“Archival Series” của Macallan là một phiên bản giới hạn tái hiện lại các hình ảnh phong cách quảng cáo xưa cũ của nhà rượu Macallan.
“Folio 5” là bản phát hành thứ 5 vào năm 2020, với vỏ hộp dạng quyển sách rất độc đáo, có chất liệu bằng thiếc có giá trị bảo quản bền lâu với khí hậu VN.
Macallan Folio 5 gợi nhớ về một quảng cáo có câu chuyện về một chiếc “Luggy Bonnet” – 1 chiếc mũ len đan truyền thống Scotland – xuất hiện cả trong tập film của Harry Potter đình đám!

Macallan Folio 1 – The much anticipated 2015 limited release from the Macallan. Available only from the distillery, with no more than 2,000 bottles made available. Presented in a lovely book shaped tin which contains a no age statement bottle, although we have been informed by the distillery that it is a minimum of 12 years old sherry matured whisky, this also comes with a hardback book presenting 80’s Macallan advertisement pictures along with a USB stick continuing the advertising archive.
Macallan Folio 2 – 2017 limited release from The Macallan. Available only from the distillery, with no more than 2,000 bottles made available. Presented in a lovely book shaped tin featuring a water coloured painting from Sara Midda which contains a no age statement bottle, although we have been informed by the distillery that it is a minimum of 12 years old sherry matured whisky, this also comes with a hardback book which revisits The Macallan’s original print, press & film advertising campaign from 1980-1994.
Macallan Folio 3 – The Folio 3 continues the ongoing Archival Series remembering the legendary advertising campaigns of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s that took The Macallan to a wider audience for the first time.
A collaboration with the creative director, David Holmes, and copywriter, Nick Salaman – who masterminded the original campaign – Folio 3 leads with an advertising feature that celebrates the idea that whisky is best made in cold weather.
Macallan Folio 4 – The much anticipated 2019 limited release from The Macallan, has arrived after the recent ballot took place. The latest instalment of the Archival series, the Folio 4 features an advertisement including a strathspey composed by James Scott Skinner (1843-1927). The ad notes that Skinner, “The Strathspey King”, was moved to music by the lilting flavour and melting resonances of a tumbler of his favourite malt whisky – The Macallan.
Macallan Folio 5 – The much anticipated 2020 limited release from The Macallan, has arrived after the recent ballot took place. The latest instalment of the Archival series, the Folio 5 features an advertisement The Luggy Bonnet: a tale of missed opportunity and the need to “keep this knot firmly tied”. It features a story of acquaintances, when one sportsman talks of a so-called ‘disaster’, missing the opportunity of a dram of The Macallan from the Laird as a result of his hat covering his ears.
The Folio 5 continues the ongoing Archival Series remembering the legendary advertising campaigns of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s that took The Macallan to a wider audience for the first time.
Macallan Folio 6 – The sixth release in The Macallan Archival Series, Folio 6 celebrates a wonderfully witty advert, which cleverly featured ‘The Chairman’ as a Scotsman dancing the Highland fling over a pen and brush, the symbols of the advertising team of Holmes and Salaman.
At the time, The Macallan Chairman was Allan Shiach, who as a writer himself, was known to suggest the occasional idea to the brand’s creative team. Naturally, the two admen tended to bridle a little at these suggestions from above – but of course, when it was The Macallan Chairman they could hardly demur.
Brows were furrowed. Misgivings were muttered. But the admen stuck to the creative task, and ultimately chose to feature the Chairman himself in their response to the gauntlet he had thrown down. The resulting campaign remains one of the brand’s most memorable, and to many, the most amusing.
The Folio 6 continues the ongoing Archival Series remembering the legendary advertising campaigns of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s that took The Macallan to a wider audience for the first time.
